State of Utah - Jobs Facilities Manager in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is seeking a Facilities Manager. If you are a management professional with experience in construction and facilities management and are interested in a great career opportunity,we are looking for you! Principle Duties Employees in this position are responsible for coordinating and managing the maintenance and improvements of state owned and leased facilities for the agency. Duties may include:

  • Supervising subordinate personnel including: hiring,determining workload and delegating assignments,training,monitoring and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions. 
  • Developing,evaluating or reviewing plans and criteria for a variety of facility projects and activities; assesses feasibility of facility project requests.
  • Developing appropriate safety and/or service plans to alleviate risk and provide protection.
  • Participating in the planning,designing,construction and maintenance of facilities. Obtains and documents quotes/bids. Evaluates proposals for specification compliance and makes recommendations for awards.
  • Approves,signs and/or implements applicable documents,actions,processes and programs.
  • Reviewing and/or inspecting work for quality,accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinating and/or acting as a liaison between agency or work unit and other agencies,work units,organizations and suppliers.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws,regulations and/or agency rules,standards and guidelines.
  • Coordinating the development of comprehensive facility master plans program.  
  • Maintaining and updating the Department Continuity of Operations Plan and associated training.
  • Ensuring that all facility related risks identified in annual facility risk assessments area are resolved.
  • Making recommendations regarding agency facility lease renewals and state facility capital improvement projects.
  • Reviewing and approving facility related procurement requests.
  • Managing one or more statewide or agency wide program(s).  

The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has experience in:

  • Managing facility construction and building reconfigurations.
  • Floor plan utilizing AutoCAD. 
  • Continuity of Operations Planning
