Job Overview

Komatsu is looking for a Finance Manager. This position will be responsible for the extension of retail and lease credit, and developing recommendations for credit extensions on situations requiring higher authority levels. Develop, implement and monitor retail finance programs to support sales function in all locations.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Obtain adequate financial and credit information to approve retail finance and lease transactions up to approval authority level and initiate recommendation on credit extension requiring higher approval authority level. Determine legal documentation requirements for approved transactions and communicate credit decisions to distributors.
  • Responsible for the promotion of positive customer relations with internal and external customers via phone contact and personal visits to develop new business and to support existing customers.
  • Assist in defining training needs and recommending programs to educate personnel on retail/wholesale financing programs. This will include on-site training to promote and encourage better use and understanding of financial services. Also the continued planning and development of new finance and lease programs.
  • Obtain and maintain proper lien perfection to protect the company's interest on retail finance and lease transactions (includes RA9 UCC compliance, state secured lending requirements and rate limitations). Follow up with branch sales staff for all required customer documentation corrections. Trades to be cleared of liens or pay off requirements for transaction.
  • Clear security interest on retail and lease portfolio
  • Awareness of changes in secured transaction laws and compliance
  • Communicate relevant sales information to support staff for proper entry in to recordkeeping systems.
  • Quote and prepare documentation for customer signature for approved transactions. Ensuring the correct documentation is completed. Comply with state and local tax requirements and other legal issues.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, business related major preferred, plus 3 to 5 years prior experience with equipment finance.
  • Analyze and interpret financial statements and customer credit history.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State legal and tax requirements.
  • Knowledge of Komatsu marketing programs, products use of equipment and market.
  • Ability to interface effectively with distributors, customers, Komatsu personnel, finance and legal communities.
  • Proficient with Komatsu Financial retail and wholesale finance systems and web applications and the ability to train Komatsu sales personnel.
