Installs, maintains, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on building structures, small appliances, mechanical and electrical equipment, and utilities throughout the University campus.The Maintenance Helper reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. Maintenance Helpers maintain the public spaces within the buildings, complete work requests that arise from students living in occupied spaces, and conduct preventative maintenance checks and processes. When the students move out in May as well as prior to their arrival in August, the Maintenance Helper staff complete a check of every room to repair facility issues. Maintenance Helpers rotate through serving as on-call staff for urgent issues arising after business hours.Housing & Residential Education and the University of Utah value interactions among individuals with varying traditions, cultures, orientation, religious beliefs, economic backgrounds, and racial/ethnic origins.
