Job Description
Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) is one of the most technically advanced designers and manufacturers of lightweight composite aerospace structures, subassemblies and components. The Manufacturing Engineer implements and maintains well defined, documented, and controlled manufacturing processes pertaining to CNC machining of aerospace structures manufactured from advanced composite materials. This engineer is responsible for the overall machining process and work cells. Works cooperatively with other teams including operations, quality, and tooling to support production and optimize the process. Applies theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of manufacturing engineering production problems. * Maintain current machining process documentation and manage the changes in Product Data Management (PDM) systems. * Evaluate nonconforming parts and provide dispositions based on customer specifications. * Support root cause and corrective action investigations. * Promptly troubleshoot process stoppages to minimize machine downtime. * Identify and implement process improvement opportunities relating to safety, quality, and efficiency. * Manage CNC tool catalog including component selection, feeds/speeds, and tool life. * Create and maintain processes that meet operations' labor and cycle time targets. * Create Compliance Matrices for customer requirements. * Utilize SPC to monitor machining inspection data. * Create and maintain process PFMEAs.

Experience/Education/Skills
- Minimum 3 years' experience in manufacturing engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in developing and maintaining manufacturing processes and basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with technicians, other engineers, and management on technical matters.
- Strong computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Prefer a good understanding of CNC machining.
- Prefer composite production experience.
Minimum Education and Certification Requirements: BS/BA in Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Equivalent (AE/CE/IE)
