University of Utah Research Economist in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Job SummaryConducts economic and policy research. Works with the economic research team to research and analyze Utahs economy and other topics; analyze data; help conduct economic impact studies and economic forecasting; and create/maintain visualizations, dashboards, and other research and data products. Participates in preparing scopes of work, conducting research, and writing reports. Ensures continuity and quality customer service between University departments and community. Collaborates with a professional staff to help business and community leaders, and the public at large, make informed decisions.Problem SolvingThe problems and solutions encountered by this position vary depending on the area and structure of the department. This position frequently addresses problematic situations and often acts a mediator or a negotiator. A major task for this position is to understand the needs of the customers and determine what products and services should be provided to meet those needs.CommentsThe incumbent must be proficient in making daily operational decisions in assigned area to ensure compliance of current regulations and guidelines.The Kem C.
