Job Summary
TheJohn and Marcia Price College of EngineeringIT Department is looking for a System Administrator to assist in the mission of support the college in its academic and research mission. The System Administrator position will assist in configuring and rolling out software across the student labs within the college. The position will also be tasked with creating and provisioning virtual machines and support key college infrastructure.

Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this position include:
Administering clients using configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, PDQ or Puppet
Writing automation scripts using BASH , Python or other scripting languages.
Managing virtualization using VMware ESXI , Hyper-V or Proxmox
Manage and update client computers running Windows, MacOS and Linux
Apply configuration settings to meet industry standards such as NIST 800-171 and ISO 27001
Run assessment tools such as CIS and SCAP and apply remediation
Install and troubleshoot client applications such as Ansys, MatLab and Cadence Design Systems
Configure network access ports and update DHCP and DNS computer setting

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) with at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
Ability to work in a team environment with other IT staff, students, faculty and other staff.
Strong communications skills
Familiarity with security standards and policies such as NIST , ISO and CIS
Understanding of programing languages such as Python, Ruby, Golang or PHP
Fundamental understanding of network protocols such as TCP , UDP , DHCP and DNS
Background in system administration of Windows, Red Hat, Ubuntu or other Linux systems
