Urologic Oncologist
The Division of Urology seeks to hire a fellowship-trained urologic oncologist. This faculty member will serve as an Assistant, Associate, or full Professor and be responsible for high-volume clinical activity within the realm of urologic oncology. This will involve seeing patients in clinics and operating rooms based at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, however, may also work at multiple University of Utah facilities including SJHC , FHC , University Hospital, and potentially others. We would anticipate 3-4.5 days of clinical activity each week with 0.5-2.0 days reserved for academic/administrative time. This faculty member would be expected to develop a strong regional and national referral practice in urologic oncology.
On the educational front, this faculty member will be responsible for teaching residents and urologic oncology fellows state of the art care, practice and patient-centered behavior. This will include didactic lectures and one-on-one teaching in both the clinic and operating room settings. We would expect this faculty member to also educate staff members on best care of the problems seen within the clinic.
On a research front, this urologic oncologist hire will focus on clinical research activities including outcomes, health services research or other clinically related quality improvement and other endeavors. The faculty member will work with some residents and fellows to increase their participation in research and be sure that our urologic oncology section publishes and reports important data that moves the field forward.
