Duchesne Construction Outside Sales Rep in SALT LAKE, Utah
An Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business, building client relationships, and driving sales growth by meeting with potential and existing clients in person. The role involves identifying opportunities, understanding client needs, presenting product solutions, negotiating contracts, and closing sales. The Outside Sales Rep works outside the office, traveling to customer locations, attending trade shows, networking events, and representing the company's products or services in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and research potential clients through various methods, including cold calling, networking, referrals, and attending industry events. Generate and qualify new sales leads.
Client Meetings & Presentations: Meet with potential and existing clients in person to present products or services, discuss their needs, and provide tailored solutions. Prepare and deliver engaging presentations that highlight the value of the product.
Sales Negotiation & Closing: Engage in negotiation with clients, finalize terms and conditions, and close sales agreements. Achieve sales targets and quotas set by management.
Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business. Provide ongoing support to customers and handle any issues or concerns post-sale.
Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to identify new business opportunities and provide insights to the company.
Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and opportunities. Use CRM software to track leads, sales, and customer feedback.
Account Management: Follow up with existing accounts to upsell products or services, renew contracts, or resolve issues. Work with other departments to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to develop strategies and campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive sales growth. Communicate customer feedback to the product development team for potential improvements.
Event Participation: Attend trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to represent the company, generate leads, and network with potential clients.
Target Achievement: Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals and targets set by management.
Skills and Qualifications:
Sales Expertise: Proven track record of success in B2B or B2C sales, with a strong ability to close deals and meet sales targets.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, present ideas clearly, and negotiate effectively.
Self-Motivation: Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Ability to manage a sales pipeline and prioritize tasks.
Relationship-Building: Ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, earning their trust and loyalty.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and provide solutions that meet those needs.
Organizational Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills to manage a busy schedule, multiple accounts, and administrative tasks effectively.
Networking Ability: Comfortable attending industry events, trade shows, and networking activities to generate new leads and build a professional network.
Negotiation Skills: Skilled in negotiation and closing deals with the ability to discuss pricing, contracts, and terms while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Exce l, PowerPoint), and other sales tools. Ability to learn and use sales technology quickly.
Adaptability: Abil ty to adapt to changes in product offerings, market conditions, and customer needs.
Education and Experience:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is often preferred.
Experience:
Proven experience as an Outside Sales Representative or similar sales role.
Experience in the specific industry or market (e.g., technology, manufacturing, healthcare, etc.) is a plus.
Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and objectives.
Working Conditions:
Location: Primarily work outside the office, visiting client locations, attending meetings, and conducting sales presentations.
Travel: Significant travel is required within a defined territory, including visiting client sites, attending conferences, and networking events.
Schedule: Flexible schedule with occasional evening or weekend work, depending on client needs and events.
