PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Assist AE and Producer in sales, marketing, and servicing of new and renewal business. Effectively manage a book of business containing selected accounts encompassing a high level of expertise and service to the client. Support and assist ASR Supervisor in procedural training of new employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales:

Provide marketing information on products available in the marketplace that would allow the sale of additional lines of coverage to existing and prospective clients.

Service the requests of the client to assure a prompt, accurate and courteous response to their needs.

Marketing:

Maintain knowledge of current marketplace and capabilities of providing alternatives as it relates to plan designs and funding options for our clients and the Producer.

Gather information and assist with the preparation of the bid specifications with input from the Producer to obtain accurate and timely quotations from the marketplace.

Negotiate pricing, policy provisions and coverages with the proposing and/or current insurance carrier

Assist the Producer with the formal presentation to the client.

Exhibit ability to accept full responsibility and accountability of client retention.

Exhibit full understanding of underwriting methodology and financial analysis from the carriers.

Administrative:

Assure accuracy of proposals and funding arrangements as applied for

Confirm with the selected carrier to assure understanding of the plan design and associated rates for the employee benefit program(s)

Secondary support to monitor and maintain income to department (fees and commissions) and carrier appointments to assure timeliness of department revenues.

Maintain and monitor client files according to defined procedures

Development and maintenance of Prospect Proposals to assure current information related McGriff and specifically the Benefits Department

Work with the selected carrier to properly implement the insurance program (s).

Monitor expiration listing to assure accurate and timely renewals.

Maintain a working knowledge of legislative issues relating to Employee Benefits and the effect on clients.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Minimum three years prior employee benefits account management experience required. Solid understanding of various plan designs and employee benefits funding concepts.

Strong client relation skills to build and maintain positive business relationships with clients and market contacts; including excellent communication skills and service orientation, cooperative nature, and tactfulness to resolve client and company problems.

Ability to persuade and negotiate with clients to obtain information, commitment or payments.

Life & Health Insurance License

Exceptional attention to detail and committed to working collaboratively with clients and colleagues.

Organizational and time management skills to plan and prioritize workflow and to develop and oversee work systems and procedures.

Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products

Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
