Strike Corrosion Technician in San Antonio, Texas

Job Summary:

This is a full-time, permanent role for a Corrosion Technician at Strike. As a Corrosion Technician, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, troubleshooting, and implementing corrosion mitigation strategies for pipeline and energy infrastructure projects. You will work closely with clients to ensure their every need and to stay within industry standards.

Primary Job Function:

  • Perform troubleshooting and advanced test methods to evaluate the efficacy of a cathodic protection (CP) system.

  • Perform stray current and AC interference studies.

  • Perform adjustments and repairs on CP systems.

  • Oversee cathodic protection installation and survey efforts as an inspector and field trainer.

  • Perform Operator Qualification evaluations.

  • Perform pipeline survey methods (CIS, ACVG, DCVG, ACCA, etc.). These will typically be performed by the CP2 Technician in support of an external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA).

  • Gather data in support of CP and AC mitigation design.

  • Install, test, and troubleshoot CP rectifiers.

  • Evaluate and compile data in an organized manner for submission to Engineering. Basic report writing may be required.

  • Adhere to client and company safety requirements.

  • Maintain client relationships, with the goal of meeting all customer expectations.

  • Ability to work alone or in a team setting with minimal supervision.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Must maintain valid driver’s license in state of residency.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite products.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • AMPP CP 2 certification preferred (CP1 required).

  • Required 3 years of experience.

    Other Criteria:

  • Physical demands require ability to endure frequent physical activity, work long days and handle outdoor elements including a variety of weather conditions.

  • Repetitively standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching over shoulder height, and climbing ladders up to 25 feet. Occasionally lifting up to 70 lbs. with or without assistance.

  • Frequent travel is required. Must be able to stay near job sites up to 3 weeks.

  • Self-motivated, shows initiative, and demonstrates leadership qualities.

  • Must be a good communicator, planner and display good work ethic.
