In Terracon’s intern program you will experience exciting, fun and meaningful work as you work along-side some of the brightest minds and state of the art technology in the engineering industry. You will not only learn and advance technically but will also be provided with opportunities for professional development. You will be assigned a leader/mentor who will teach you about engineering as a profession, technical subjects, and be a local resource for your internship.
You may also have the opportunity to participate in a cohort. The cohort is a way for you to connect with other interns across the company, and learn about their experiences. This is also a great way for you to start building your professional network! At the end of the summer, your cohort will present to our executive leadership team.
Your experiences may include learning, understanding, and performing services related to:
Geotechnical Engineering
Construction Materials Testing and Engineering
Environmental Consulting and Engineering
Building Enclosure Consulting for new and existing buildings
Structural Diagnostics
MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Consulting
Property Condition Assessments
Facility Assessments
During the internship, you can expect to:
Support testing teams
Conduct field and laboratory tests of concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates
Provide assistance to other field and/or office personnel
Support design phase drawing review, development, and analysis
Shadow engineers and/or consultants on construction site visits and meetings
Transport equipment, specimens, and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients, or other offices, and provide physical assistance in equipment set-up, tear-down, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment, vehicles, and work areas
Assists technicians or professional staff on routine tasks
Be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments
