South Texas Blood & Tissue is an AABB-accredited blood bank. It operates nine donor centers in South Texas, distributing blood, plasma, platelets, and other components to regional hospitals and emergency first responders. It also provides starting materials to therapeutic developers, and clinical research services. Its apheresis center received FACT accreditation in 2022 for peripheral blood cellular therapy product collection. As an AATB-accredited tissue bank, it offers tissue recovery from living and deceased donors.

General Summary

Responsible for maximizing mobile resource allocation, managing multi-territory blood drive campaigns and leading/mentoring/motivating the mobile blood donor account managers. Responsible for maximizing donor recruitment outputs and ensuring teams meet and/or exceed 100% of assigned goals. Will plan, organize, promote, and coordinate all mobile recruitment activities for South Texas Blood & Tissue, a subsidiary of BioBridge Global. Under his/her leadership, will continue to build a culture of empowerment and collaboration amongst the donor recruitment team and other departments of STB&T. Imperative to this position is the ability to develop a donor recruitment forecast and prepare mitigation plans should forecast not equate to or exceed assigned monthly targets.

Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.

It is essential that the incumbent have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Tasks

Provide supervisory oversight which includes providing specific work direction, reviewing performance, giving timely performance feedback and holding team members accountable to expectations.

Organize and provide oversight for the logistics, calendar management, and forecasting functions associated with mobile operations to meet and/or exceed 100% of assigned collection goals.

Coordinates donor messaging with the Donor Marketing and Community Engagement team to convey critical and/or special needs to donors.

Monitor and analyze statistics reflecting performance and productivity for mobile recruitment programs, including mobile apheresis recruitment.

Appropriately provide recommendations for improving productivity and/or donor experience improvements.

Coordinate mobile operations scheduling/staffing with the Blood Donor Collections Departments. Prepare management reports, program proposals, and recruitment materials as needed.

Keep records and prepare reports on donor recruitment performance.

Participates in sales training opportunities and other skill-building classes/meetings.

Conduct meetings and plan conferences that will enhance the donor recruitment activities.

Provide staff counseling for disciplinary action in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.

Advise the Senior Leadership on issues regarding donor recruitment and other assigned programs.

Attend meetings and conferences as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience

Requires six or more years of Donor Recruitment or Account Manager experience.

Requires three or more years of management experience managing Account Representatives/Account Managers.

Knowledge

Must acquire a general knowledge of how blood products are collected, processed, stored and shipped. Must maintain knowledge of and perform according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.

Must quickly learn the fundamentals of donor recruitment programs.

Must be able to acquire extensive knowledge of STB&T existing donor base and serve as subject matter expert related to donor recruitment CRM program; overall recruitment process; and understanding of regulatory requirements that apply to recruiting donors

Must have an in-depth understanding of the best practices for sales processes to include forecasting, planning, budgeting and process optimization.

Must demonstrate positive leadership skills.

Must have excellent management skills, driving accountability in a participative management environment. Must have strong computer skills.

Working Environment

Works in a well-lighted, air conditioned and heated office. May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an office environment. May be required to work at any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend. Ability to use personal motor vehicle for company business required. Physical Requirements

Will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours.

Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing corrected to a normal range. Required to lift and carry relatively light materials.
