If providing hope and healing through compassionate, innovative, and individualized care interests you, we welcome your application for the position below.The Vehicle Driver II performs complex (journey-level) motor vehicle operations and work under the supervision of the Regional Laundry Director. The Regional Laundries deliver, pick-up, and process linens for both State Hospitals and State Supported Living Centers. Work involves operating a Class B commercial single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 lbs. or heavier and/or any vehicle that is towing another vehicle weighing up to 10,000 lbs. to transport cargo between state owned facilities. The Vehicle Driver II follows a predetermined schedule to deliver and pick up cargo from facilities in the state on and off campus. The Vehicle Driver II is responsible for ensuring that the cargo is handled in a manner consistent with facility rules and regulations. Duties include maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle and the cargo space in a sanitary manner and operating motorized vehicles in a safe manner in accordance with facility rules and state traffic laws to deliver and pick up cargo as scheduled. The Vehicle Driver II is required to maintain forms and records pertaining to vehicle operations. The completion of work requires use of established methods and/or techniques. The Vehicle Driver II assists in all areas at the laundry production site and/or laundry distribution sites. The Vehicle Driver II has no financial responsibility but is accountable for assigned property. All tasks will be performed within established time frames. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure efficient operation of the patient care unit. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.Essential Job Functions1.
