Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician with expertise in Scope Processing using Medivator AER and Olympus OER. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sterile processing duties, including the reprocessing and assembly of specialized instruments and equipment, ensuring they meet high performance standards for surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sterile processing duties according to the lead technicians.

  • Reprocess and assemble specialized instruments and equipment.

  • Wash instruments and equipment, prepare them for sterilization, and sterilize trays and instruments.

  • Operate specialized washers and sterilizers according to designated procedures.

  • Maintain instruments to ensure high performance during surgical procedures.

  • Inspect and test the performance of specialized instruments and equipment.

  • Lubricate items in accordance with designated cleaning and instrument preparation instructions.

  • Document required information and maintain necessary records.

  • Set up case carts for surgical procedures.

  • Ensure correct inventory and restock equipment and supplies as needed.

  • Assist with the preparation of equipment, instruments, and supplies.

  • Operate and troubleshoot equipment used for job functions, seeking assistance as needed.

  • Report hazardous conditions, malfunctioning equipment, accidents, or other incidents to the immediate supervisor.

  • Participate in performance improvement activities and meetings as assigned.

  • Participate in training, educational activities, and staff meetings.

  • Assist with the orientation and training of other personnel.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in scope processing, decontamination, and sterilization.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Decontamination experience (must-have).

  • HS Diploma or GED required.

  • CRCST certification (Central Service Technician Certification).

  • AHA BLS certification.

  • 5 years of experience in sterile processing, with a preference for neuro, ortho, and robotics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to work rotating weekends.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment

This position requires working the 3rd shift, Monday-Friday from 5:00 pm to 1:30 am, with rotating weekends. You will be part of a team of 15 people, interacting with colleagues from both shifts. The work environment is fast-paced and collaborative, offering opportunities for professional growth and development.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00
