Job Title: Area Director

Job Description

The Area Director is required to regularly and customarily exercise discretion in managing the overall operation of the stores within their assigned district. The majority of time will be spent developing store management talent, making management staffing decisions, ensuring district-wide customer satisfaction and product quality, P&L responsibility, and planning for future growth and development of new cafes. The Area Director is also responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with guiding principles and ensuring those beliefs are being carried out accordingly.

Hard Skills

  • 5+ years management/supervisory experience

  • Service or restaurant industry experience

  • Boudin certified in all manager and general manager functions

  • Strong verbal and written command of the English language

  • Basic math skills and understanding computations to interpret financial reports

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

  • Knowledge of POS operating systems

  • Experience with conflict resolution

Soft Skills

  • Human Resources & Training and Development: Ensures that CafĂ© Management staff is properly trained in the most current business systems and processes and that training is being properly filtered down to the appropriate staff members. Monitors cafes adherence to applicable Human Resource policies and procedures to ensure both company and legal compliance. Leads the training and development of team members through coaching and feedback to ensure operational excellence and to improve performance. Creates opportunities for employee growth and development.

  • Marketing: Supports and executes Company marketing initiatives positively. Represents the Brand positively with respect and integrity. Creates and maintains positive relations in the community.

  • Financial Acumen: Utilizes management information tools and analyzes financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in district performance.

  • Operational Savviness: Responsible for up to eight units. Develops the store management team within the district. Ensures management-level partner development and talent acquisition to achieve and maintain district operational requirements. Drives the implementation of company programs by motivating and supporting the store management team within the district that will meet operational and organizational objectives. Reviews store environments and key business indicators within the district to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement to provide coaching to the store management team to take action and achieve operational goals. Works with the Sr. Director of Operations to create strategies that support the execution of regional and company initiatives to achieve both operational excellence and business results. Follows up consistently to ensure accountability to plans. Solicits customer feedback to understand customer needs and the needs of the local community.

Work Environment

Hybrid - required to visit stores within operational territory but primarily remote
