Navy Systems Management Activity IT Specialist (CUSTSPT/SYSADMIN) in San Diego, California

Responsibilities You will serve as an IT Specialist for Customer Support and System Administration for the Customer Services Division, Information Systems and Technology (ISaT) Directorate for the Navy Systems Management Activity (NSMA). You will review and perform actions on all applicable IT System Administration customer service requests. You will perform the Communication Security (COMSEC) Local Element Representative role, and provide IT System Administration support to the IT network and infrastructure. You will manage customer trouble tickets using the organization?s service ticket system; and you will record customer requests for assistance electronically. You will serve as custodian for hardware and other materials located at West Coast Support Group. This includes formal appointment in writing and performing monthly, annual, and/or ad-hoc inventory audits. You will serve as a system administrator for the organizational IT network supporting West Coast Support Group and West Coast customers. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For all Information Technology position applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience serving and performing the duties as a COMSEC Local Element Representative providing timely support and assistance to a customer base requiring Secure Telephone Equipment (STE) and vIPer secure phone services to include High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) and Inline Network Encryptor (INE) (e.g., KG-175 Family) service functions. 2) Experience and knowledge of a wide range of telecommunications and computer techniques, requirements, methods, sources and procedures combined with in-depth knowledge of server virtualization technologies, desktop virtualization technologies, operating systems software, hardware, network management systems, automation scripting, and remote access. 3) Experience setting up offices and workspaces with IT equipment (to include desktop client, telephones, monitors, video teleconference systems, and peripherals) ensuring equipment is configured.
