Fluor Lead Maintenance Mechanic in San Diego, California
Perform various routine maintenance assignments and assist other Engineering personnel in the repair and maintenance of physical structure, equipment, and fixtures of the facility and grounds. Lead and direct maintenance staff in daily activities. Supports basic maintenance of fire and life safety systems and infection control practices to ensure safety of site, client, and staff. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (9/80)
Job Duties include:
Comply with Fluor and customer prescribed and published work rules, policies, procedures, and safety practices.
Direct daily efforts of all trades within their area of responsibility, supervise trades.
Coordinate work with other trades and outside contractors.
Maintain required documentation and coordinate with facilities dispatch to assist in the upkeep of the facilities preventive maintenance system.
Monitor service and construction contractor work for: functionality, quality, and maintainability. Assure all safety procedures are observed.
Make periodic planned and unplanned inspections of the campus to monitor the maintenance and safety program.
Respond as quickly as possible when called in emergency situations. When required, stay on the job until a critical situation is over.
Cooperate in every possible way when a problem involves site or client well-being or safety.
Work closely with Site Leadership and other designated persons in overseeing the proper functioning and maintenance of all critical utilities, life safety, equipment, and duties performed by the maintenance department.
Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department/facility.
Knowledge and Skill requirements:
Strong Leadership Capabilities required
Strong computer skills required to include but not limited to MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Must be experienced with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment and machinery and be able to read and interpret technical manuals, data sheets and blue-prints.
Knowledge of general safety policies and procedures, fire and life safety, and commercial building codes.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally in English. Bilingual is preferred.
High school graduate or GED or equivalent vocational trade school training is required.
Five (5) years experience, with a minimum of two (2) years in a commercial setting, working, maintaining, and operating mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, plumbing and HVAC equipment and systems in facilities maintenance, with specific knowledge in the use of power and hand tools.
