Description
PCSI is looking for a Maintenance Trades Assistant at NavSea, San Diego, CA! Minor adjustments and repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, waste systems, architectural and structural building components, doors, windows, floor systems, light carpentry, and roof systems. This position will report to the Project Manager and is based at NavSea in San Diego. Typical work hours will be Monday through Friday from 6:30am-3pm.

Base pay of $20.77 depending upon experience.

What You'll Do as a Maintenance Trades Assistant:
Minor adjustments and repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, waste systems, architectural and structural building components, doors, windows, floor systems, light carpentry, and roof systems.
Cleaning and maintaining of mechanical rooms.
Preventative maintenance functions and minor repairs, including changing filters, cleaning cooling towers, heating, and cooling coils, and changing fluorescent and other light bulbs.
Manufacture, repair, and installation of screens and glass.
Sign maintenance to include inspections, replacement (setting/affixing) and painting.
Ensure all paperwork is completed.
Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors
Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets
Painting structures and equipment
Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalk
Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles
Hanging doors and installing door locks
Replacing broken window panes
Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery
Other duties as assigned such as the movement or rearrangement of office furniture.
Operates a company-owned vehicle (and cellular telephone) to transport self and others in performance of assigned duties; performs operator maintenance as required.
Can be utilized by electricians or mechanics if necessary.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:
High school diploma or GED.
Must have the ability to perform the assigned duties.
Prior facility maintenance experience is preferred.
Able to effectively speak, read, and write the English language.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb ladders. Frequently required to kneel, squat, bend, and reach.
Require to be able to lift 50lbs up to 10 times per day.
Ability to perform a variety of maintenance tasks.
Knowledge of all maintenance trades in a maintenance environment (prior government contractor experience preferred).
Ability to use hand tools and power tools required for installation, maintenance, and repair.
Must have the ability to successfully complete all applicable training modules assigned.
Other Requirements:
Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
Exposure to dirt, dust, loud noise, and outside weather conditions.
Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI clearance and DBIDS.
