The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for an Ordnance Based Maintenance & Logistics Specialist to support our government customer, on site out of San Diego , California.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform maintenance on indoor and outdoor small arms ranges, TTS, TUE, and AA&E storage facilities. Related tasks include, but are not limited to, housekeeping; grounds maintenance; preventive maintenance; inspecting; troubleshooting; repair; constructing and installing targets, target stands, barricades, and mock-ups; requisitioning, maintaining, and inventorying tools, equipment, and consumables; operating SAWS and small arms ranges; operating motor vehicles, MHE and CESE; and documentation of work performed.
Track, coordinate, and report maintenance and repair of, and, when assigned as the Licensing Examiner, train personnel to operate, motor vehicles and MHE.
Issue, receipt, sub-custody transfer, inventory, ship, store and transport small arms, light weapons, weapon mounts, SAWS, VAS, and other controlled inventory items. Handle (including with MHE), block and brace, and transport AE. Tasks may require specialized training in protecting AA&E, VAS, and related controlled inventory items from theft or damage and demonstration of proficiency in the use of firearms.
Account for Ammunition & Explosives in the official record including the requisition, issue, receipt, expenditure and disposition of assets via computer-based applications. Read and understand technical manuals and drawings; identify, requisition and manage inventories of repair parts, tools and consumables; and develop SAWS courses of fire.
Maintenance and logistics management of support equipment, facilities and materials including, but not limited to:
AA&E Storage Facilities
Ancillary Equipment (i.e. rail interface systems, fore grips, marking cartridge adapter kits, etc.)
Civil Engineering Support Equipment (CESE)
Government Owned/Leased Non-Tactical Vehicles
Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
Repair Parts
Tools and Consumable Items
Training Aids (Target Stands, Barricades, Static Vehicles, etc.)
Visual Augmentation Systems (VAS)
Weapons-Based Training Facilities\
Weapon Mounts
Logistics management of ammunition including, but not limited to:
Dispositioning
Handling
Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard (MPPEH) Processing
Receipting, Storing, Segregating, Issuing (RSSI)
Reporting via Ordnance Information System-Retail (OIS-R) and/or Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS)
Read and understand technical manuals and drawings; identify, requisition, and manage inventories of repair parts, tools, and consumables; and develop SAWS courses of fire.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Possess an associate degree and three (3) years of experience; or a minimum of four (4) total years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Successfully completed the Navy's "Ammunition Supply Administration" course (A-041-0040) offered by the Center for Surface Combat Systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in an AA&E management environment
Possess a thorough understanding of Navy AA&E safety and security regulations
Experienced Ordnance Information System Operator
Possess familiarity with operation and maintenance of Small Arms Weapons Simulator (SAWS) (FATS® simulator is preferred).
Possess knowledge of local, state and federal regulations specific to range-related debris and MPPEH generated on small arms ranges
Possess a thorough understanding of Navy maintenance processes
Possess a working knowledge of the operation of power tools, hand tools and welding machinery for metal and wood fabrication
Possess working knowledge of basic electrical maintenance, carpentry and other minor construction skills
Possess a knowledge of small arms range operations
Possess familiarity with computers and a working knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Office®
