Quality Tech - performs technical tasks related to QC

Inspection under a microscope approx 4 hours a day

inspection/testing/documentation. Good skills in Excel.

wll perform dimensional and mechanical inspections, will train on this

blueprint reading preferred not required, good computer skills

SUMMARY:

Works under moderate supervision to perform functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations including inspection, calibration, creating inspection procedures and sampling plans for verification of product's quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs complex functional test and inspection following established procedures and work instructions.

Reads and interprets specifications and/or blue prints/mechanical drawings. If required, create and/or revise procedures to document and standardize.

Compiles quality data by using appropriate tools, including SPC charting methodology.

Evaluates quality issues identified by test and/or inspection results and report appropriately.

Reviews and dispositions product defects identified through testing and/or inspection process.

Reviews documentation for completeness and compliance with specifications.

Solves routine problems with standard solutions.

Maintains test machines and test fixtures.

Process shipping documentation and identifies/prepares the documents needed with the shipment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

2 years’ experience as a technician in a manufacturing environment required and a high school diploma or equivalent required OR

AA or AS degree in a technical discipline or the equivalent in technical knowledge gained through on the job training and/or experience required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to use the microscope for a long period of time is preferred

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/blueprints is preferred

Ability to use a micrometer, caliper, depth gauge and other measuring tools

Skill in using a computer, familiarity with word-processing and spreadsheet programs

Organization skills to collect data and transform it in meaningful information

Skill in making basic arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations

Skill in communicating well with people at all levels

Read, comprehend and write in English

REQUIREMENTS:

Willingness to wear cleanroom apparel

Must be proactive and enthusiastic

Willing to learn and contribute

Ability to perform visual inspection

Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job

Ability to either stand or sit for extended periods of time

Ability to bend, stoop, turn, and twist

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

Ability to grab small parts or tools with hands

Ability to physically move about the plant
