BAE Systems, San Diego Business Center (SDBC) is looking for an experienced, Senior Software Engineer to work on a cross-functional team and participate in the complete software development lifecycle including designing, developing, debugging, testing, configuring, and deploying our complex, real-time software solutions into simulation and live flight exercises. The qualified candidate will interact directly with current and potential customers to understand their requirements and guide development efforts to meet their needs.
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret clearance
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering/technical discipline and 8 years software design, code and debugging experience across the entire development lifecycle
Experience with C / C#, Python, Visual Studio, and Test Complete.
Ability to debug source code
Troubleshooting complex, multi-threaded software
Work with third-party libraries and documentation
Experience developing successful object-oriented systems with a focus on maintainability and testability, and deep understanding of issues surrounding layering and dependencies in object oriented systems
Understanding and skills in software design and development, including Object Oriented Analysis & Design
Experience with version control systems, such as Git
Experience with Agile development and issue tracking systems, such as JIRA
Experience with UNIX and/or Linux
Self-starter with ability to multitask
Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment
Strong oral and written communications skills
Integration experience, including Deploy software to Linux environments, Interpret logs and validate data analytics
Understand complex system architectures and debug errors spanning multiple components
Experience with using various scripting language (Javascript, Python, Perl, Shell) to create final product per stakeholder requirements
Must have a strong understanding of sound software development principles and practices.
Must be able to plan and prioritize personal tasking and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Desire to serve as a backup DTA
Experience using SQL with RDMBS like Oracle
Proficiency in multiple high level programming languages (e.g., C , Java, Python)
Knowledge of and experience with software design patterns and heuristics and their application.
Development methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, and/or Iterative)
Scripting and other languages (e.g., sh, csh, bash, ksh, make, imake, XML, HTML, CSS, and/or PERL)
Development tools and services (e.g., Eclipse, Spring Framework, JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, Maven, Ant and/or automated test tools)
Open Source, software and services
Experience in software development on Agile teams using Agile Developer practices
Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology, SAFe Agilest Certification, or past experience as a member of an agile team.
Experience using GitLab, Jenkins or other CI / CD tools
Strong Linux and Networking background
Experience with mission planning software
Experience with JMPS
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
