Job Description:

The Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machine operator will assemble electronic parts using Mycronic Pick-And-Place equipment, ASMPT/DEK solder paste printing equipment, and Heller Industries reflow oven, working from Bills of Material (BOMs), drawings, routings, Engineer change order and process control instruction as well as from verbal and written instructions. The operator will edit, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain Mycronic Pick-And-Place equipment, the ASMPT/DEK solder paste printing equipment, , and the Heller Industries reflow oven.

2nd Shift Position.

3 months training in 1st shift.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to read assembly drawings, BOMs, engineering change orders, process control instructions, verbal and detailed work instructions.

  • Operate Mycronic and/or similar Pick-And-Place equipment to install components to PCBs with surface mount technology.

  • Assemble electronic parts using Mycronic, ASMPT/DEK, and Heler Industries SMT equipment.

  • Apply solder paste and move PCBs through the reflow process.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain Mycronic, ASMPT/DEK, and Heller Industries SMT equipment.

  • Perform multiple tasks on an assigned team, project, or functional area.

  • Able to work under Microscope.

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.

  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.

  • Planned and executed work schedules in conjunction with hardware schedule requirements.

  • Responsible for the manufacturing of all hardware on one or more product lines.

  • Monitor and verify quality by using statistical process control or other control procedures.

  • Fully proficient individual contributor. Works under limited supervision. May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise. Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment.

  • Minimum of 6 years of SMT production experience.

  • Preference will be given to candidates who are certified in J-STD-001 Class 3.

    Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of SMT production experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior of SMT production experience.

  • Experience reading documentation, drawings, Engineer change orders and process control instructions.

  • Experience troubleshooting, editing, and operating Mycronic, ASMPT/DEK, and Heller Industries SMT equipment.

  • Must pass all job-specific or specialized certification programs required for core tasks or specialized assignments.

  • Familiarity with basic computing environments Windows, MS Excel, and MS Word.

  • Able to use basic LCR meter function to measure component electrical values.

  • Able to use a caliper to measure component’s physical dimensions.

  • Soldering experience.

  • Security Clearance required upon hire : Clearance Not Required

  • Security Clearance required for role : Ability to Obtain

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 training certification, and/or experienced preferred.

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $51,400 - $67,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
