The Intelligent System Experience Test Engineering organization is looking for a driven and dedicated Software Engineering Manager Test. As a member of our dynamic group, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of leading the quality efforts for the most iconic operating systems - iOS, iPadOS, macOS & visionOS. This team works on some of the core system applications such as Calculator, Contacts, Files, Finder, Spotlight, Setup, Settings and many more. In this role, you will work closely with Engineering, other SDET & QA Managers on delivering the highest quality experience to our customers. Partner with an energetic, hard-working, fun team of managers, engineers, cross-functional teams, and world-class designers to deliver the best system experiences!

Description

As a Software Engineering Manager Test, you will lead a team of six to eight SDETs and QA Engineers responsible for various projects on iOS and macOS. You will collaborate closely with your team, other software engineers, project managers, and other quality teams at Apple. Your responsibilities include coordinating testing with other teams, reviewing test plans and related documentation, delivering scalable integration and UI tests, monitoring progress, and providing sign-offs at critical milestones. Additionally, you will process data from multiple sources, draw insightful conclusions, and present valuable recommendations to leadership. You will also be expected to make valuable contributions to the team’s success as an individual contributor. Your main job responsibilities will include the following: - Manage a team of 6-8 SDETs/QA Engineers - Develop, modify, and execute test strategies & plans which includes both automation and manual testing - Guide team members to build robust scalable automation tests - Coordinate and optimize testing in a cross-functional environment - Reporting, providing sign-offs & escalations of issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in leading a team of SDETs and/or QA Engineers on shipping new products/technologies with a strong focus on testability

  • Experience in developing code in Objective-C or Swift to test API SDK or frameworks

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
