Robert Half Sr. Grant Accountant in San Diego, California
Description A Robert Half Management Resources client is in immediate need for a Sr. Grant Accounting Consultant that will be entrusted with providing comprehensive accounting, financial analysis, and compliance support for government and sponsor-funded initiatives, including federal, state, and local grants, contracts, and gifts. The role necessitates meticulous financial reporting, enduring compliance with relevant regulations, and proficient management of grant funds. This role is hybrid in San Diego and estimated to be roughly two months long.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and approve grant-related financial transactions, guaranteeing alignment with grant conditions and organizational policies. • Monitoring and reviewing grant costs and allocations to ensure they are allowable, allocable, and reasonable per grant and organizational standards. • Perform analysis on grant expenditure to identify trends, disparities, and prospective risks, offering practical insights and recommendations. • Maintain accurate and comprehensive financial records of grants and sponsored assignments. • Prepare, monitor, and analyze grant budgets while providing regular financial updates to relevant teams. • Work in collaboration with project managers and program staff to create and revise budgets and predictions, ensuring they align with program objectives and sponsor obligations. • Balance grant accounting records through detailed review of drawdowns and monitoring of cash flow. • Maintain coordination with program managers and grant administrators to ensure all requisite documentation, reporting, and financial closeouts are executed promptly. • Ensure all grant revenue is appropriately recorded in financial ledgers and recovery costs are accurately noted and reported. • Assist the VP with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring they are accurate, reconciled to the general ledger and delivered on time.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Relevant professional experience in grant management and accounting. • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding grants and sponsored programs. • Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills. • High level of proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel. • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
