HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION

The Warehouse Worker/Delivery Driver is located at the San Diego Zoo. Primary duties involve loading vehicles and making deliveries and perform a variety of general warehousing and stores functions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Receives and files orders

• Organizes materials for delivery and loads delivery truck

• Delivers materials to multiple sites within the Zoo and the Safari Park

• Makes emergency or special pick-ups and deliveries

• Receives materials delivered to warehouse, checks and inspects items

• Sort and stores stock in warehouse using fork-lifts and dollies

• Keeps warehouse areas and shelves in clean and orderly condition

• Obtains items at designated locations for re-distribution or delivery

• Obtains supplies and materials from outside vendors

  WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• JOB EXPERIENCE

• Education, training and/or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the knowledge and skills outlined

• EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Current valid California Driver’s License in good standing

• SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Safe driving practices

• California motor vehicle law

• Proper methods of shipping and receiving

• Material storage

• Operate motorized equipment and vehicles

• Understand and carry out instructions

• Learn the safe operation of a folk-lift

• Make simple arithmetic calculations and keep simple records

• Communicate and work effectively with others

• Deal tactfully and courteously with the others

• Respond to cautions from co-workers

• Position Type: Hourly Part-Time Non-Exempt Union Position - If selected, there will be fees and dues to be paid to the union

• Hourly Rate: $19.94
