The Director of Finance & Business Support will provide strategic leadership, functional guidance and valuable insights at Fairmont Heritage Place Ghirardelli Square. The candidate will be a highly motivated team player with strong skillsets in finance, accounting, communication, business presentation, analysis, and fluent knowledge of HOA governing documents and operations.

Core Duties and Responsibilities Summary

Business Partnering and Performance Management

  • Collaborate with the General Manager to foster a business partnering culture.

  • Supervise the finance team to ensure compliance with GAAP and legal standards.

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance for the residential property.

  • Enhance financial acumen among the finance and leadership team to drive performance.

  • Manage relationships with HOA board members and fulfill governance requirements.

Financial Planning, Reporting, and Analysis

  • Deliver timely financial reports to hotel management, corporate office, and HOA.

  • Analyze financial performance, recommend strategies for improvement, and manage HOA financial affairs.

  • Oversee financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process.

  • Manage Capital Reserve Plan and ensure proper tracking of fixed assets and depreciation.

  • Audit benefit programs for revenue capture and compliance.

  • Collaborate with the real estate community to enhance unit sales and owner values.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with policies, accounting standards, and legal regulations.

  • Safeguard hotel assets and manage all critical legal documents.

  • Adhere to safety policies and perform related duties as necessary.

    Requirements

Qualifications

  • Accounting Designation, Bachelor's or master’s degree in Business, Finance, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. CPA or MBA preferred

  • 3-5 years progressive work-related experience in multiple areas of accounting (including property management, hotel, or homeowners association accounting), and/or capital projects management and reporting, financial and/or business analysis, accounting, merger/acquisition analysis, or a related area, with 3-5 years managing teams and/or significant complex projects.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading & developing people. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written to address all levels within the organization and ability to gain consensus and influence others.

  • Demonstrated experience with accounting system or similar financial software for the purpose of financial reporting, analysis, and presentation.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of finance, budgeting, and accounting processes and regulations, along with demonstrated knowledge of capital projects management standards and techniques and GAAP regulations and procedures.

  • Fluent in Microsoft Window applications and relevant computer applications

  • Highly responsible & reliable with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team

  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
