Actalent Embedded Software Engineer in San Francisco, California
Actalent Services is looking for a Junior Firmware Engineer to support one of our clients that manufactures electrical equipment for different aerospace/defense companies. You will need to have a strong background in electronic embedded systems to be the primary firmware developer for a broad selection of high-performance electronics projects. The Embedded Firmware Engineer will work on teams that include circuit and FPGA design engineers, test engineers, and in-house manufacturing.
Responsibilities
· Brainstorm and define architectures
· Write and supervise embedded microprocessor code for both bare-metal and embedded Linux systems
· Create design and production test plans and programs
· Write thorough product documentation
· Participate in design reviews and provide input to identify potential issues and drive design choices
Qualifications:
· B.S in Electrical Engineering or similar
· 2+ years of work experience with embedded/firmware engineering
· Proficiency in C and C++ in a hardware-interaction context (microcontrollers or FPGA)
· Experience with Digital and analog circuit analysis
· Ability to operate standard electrical and electronics test equipment such as a DVM, oscilloscope, function generator, etc.
· Experience with Linux or other Unix-like operating systems
Nice to haves:
Experience with device drivers
Experience with Data acquisition and simulation
Experience in aerospace/defense industry
