EPAM Systems Managing Director - Insurance Advisory - Remote in San Francisco, California

You are a natural leader and a proven operator at the most senior levels of clients in the insurance industry. You think strategically and are adept at juggling multiple priorities – go-to-market, sales, engagement delivery and practice development.

As a Managing Director - Insurance Advisory , you will lead the demand generation, pursuit, sale, execution and delivery of high-impact, large-scale technology-enabled business transformation programs within the P&C insurance sector. This is a senior leadership role that requires a hybrid skill set: you must be comfortable balancing high-level business strategy with deep P&C insurance and technology solution expertise. You’ll drive the shaping and delivery of complex solutions, working with cross-functional teams in both business and technology. Your role will be to ensure we bring deep P&C insurance expertise and thought leadership to clients, as well as seamless engagement execution and client relationship management to differentiate our EPAM capabilities in the North American insurance market. Responsibilities

  • As a Strategy and Transformation Advisory leader, you will play a critical role in managing and further scaling the EPAM service line to include both strategy consulting and transformation program leadership. This includes identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building a pipeline of qualified opportunities, leading multi-workstream transformation programs and driving the growth of the Insurance Advisory practice in North America

  • As a trusted advisor to Boards of Directors and C-level executives, our Managing Directors will take a cross-disciplinary and multi-faceted approach in driving strategic and operational excellence across client functions such as underwriting, claims and distribution management. You will contribute to the development of intellectual property, accelerators, and technology solutions that enhance the practice’s offerings. You will help us evolve the way in which we deliver our services for new and existing clients, bringing a unique blend of business and technical skills to the role. You will lead teams that seamlessly deliver both strategy and technology solution engagements, ensuring solutions are both technically sound and strategically aligned

  • Technology Platforms Expertise: Provide thought leadership and first-hand delivery experience with technology platforms and digital transformation in the insurance sector. Stay ahead of the curve on emerging tech trends (e.g., cloud, AI, machine learning) and identify how these innovations can drive business value for clients

  • Large-Scale Technology Delivery: Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex tech-enabled transformation programs for clients in the P&C insurance space, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client needs. Manage and integrate delivery teams across business, data, engineering, testing and change management to drive successful outcomes

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Managing Director (Partner, or equivalent level) with primary engagement leadership responsibility and a proven track record of growing a practice’s capability and revenue in a professional services firm

  • Team leadership and a minimum of 10+ years of experience managing and mentoring high-performing multi-functional teams through business and digital transformations

  • Structured problem-solving approach with a demonstrated aptitude for analytical and conceptual solution shaping. Proven agility and track record of working in a complex environment and managing multiple external and internal stakeholders

  • Extensive client, marketplace, and competitor knowledge to enable us to build and deliver differentiated offerings, including partnering with technology solution providers

  • Deep experience building/delivering Insurance Solutions that embed unique IP that can be harvested and productized to be assets and accelerators that help scale solution delivery

  • Bachelor’s degree, engineering or science preferred, with an outstanding record of academic achievement. Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Deep P&C insurance skills with specialization in commercial and specialty lines of business

  • Strong technical expertise in technology platforms, digital transformation, and large-scale technology delivery (e.g., cloud, AI, data analytics, automation tools)

  • Proven track record for building an advisory business at a major brand consulting firm (e.g., Big4, Accenture)

  • Leading business development and sales with sales/revenue goals of at least $8-10m annually

  • Managing engagement delivery with engagement revenue targets of at least $10m annually

  • Relationships with top-tier insurers (global insurers, large national insurers, super-regional insurers)

  • Proven agility for selling and delivering both upfront business consulting engagements and transformational technology programs

  • Experience with leading software package solutions across underwriting, policy administration, billing, and claims

  • Strong understanding of insurance products as well as applications across the P&C tech stack

This posting includes a good faith range of the salary EPAM would reasonably expect to pay the selected candidate. The range provided reflects base salary only. Individual compensation offers within the range are based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to: geographic location, experience, credentials, education, training; the demand for the role; and overall business and labor market considerations. Most candidates are hired at a salary within the range disclosed. Salary range: $152K - $250K.
