We're seeking an exceptional marketing leader to drive the go-to-market strategy, campaigns, and community building for our global startup membership program, AWS Activate, and digital platform, startups.aws. This role will own product marketing, messaging, nurturing engaged communities, and collaborating cross-functionally to provide a marketing voice for our product roadmap. You'll execute high-impact marketing campaigns from concept to execution and own messaging that drives growth and engagement.

Success in this role requires ownership and the capacity to think strategically, influence key stakeholders, establish clear processes, and manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, customer-obsessed marketer immersed in the startup/tech space, with an innate understanding of the landscape, trends, and topics that resonate with founders. They also thrive on figuring out what to do and making it happen, sometimes in complex, ever-evolving, and ambiguous environments.

This role will require domestic and international travel.

Key job responsibilities

  • You will be part of the team that defines and executes comprehensive marketing and nurture campaigns that drive awareness, acquisition, and engagement of startup programs and platforms.

  • You will l conduct customer and market research to deeply understand needs, behaviors, and preferences and synthesize that information back into the overall roadmap and planning cycles.

  • You will create strategic positioning, messaging, value propositions that differentiate our offerings for startups.

  • You will work closely with product, engineering, PR, social, and other teams to plan and execute launches, outline marketing product needs, and feature rollouts through coordinated campaigns.

  • You will develop mechanisms and pathways that build and foster community, both in-person and online.

  • You will own the development of comprehensive training programs that upskill field marketing and sales teams on new program and product enhancements.

  • You will ensure global consistency in messaging, branding, and execution of activations at industry events across regions.

  • You will work with operations and business intelligence teams in order to track trends, metrics, and continuously optimize the program’s effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • 5+ years of developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners

  • Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint

  • Startup Ecosystem experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
