Citigroup SVP, Mid-Corp Tech Relationship Manager - Software in San Francisco, California
This is a Commercial Banker position on the Software coverage team, a national coverage unit within the DT& C national vertical group. The Software coverage universe consists of US headquartered corporates operating in all Software industries and related sub sectors, inclusive of fin-tech, generating annual revenues of $100MM –$3BN. Banker would be responsible for originating and managing Citi’s coverage and expansion efforts, lead credit dialogue, proactively identify cross sell opportunities, drive client-centric solutions and achieve ambitious growth targets set for the business. New Business generation is industry focused without geographic constraints within the US. Banker would effectively deliver industry insights and knowledge externally to clients and the market, and internally to leadership, Risk, and other partners. This position would work closely with internal counterparts including, but not limited to, Investment Banking, Treasury & Trade, Credit, Derivative Markets, Loan Syndications, Debt Capital Markets, and Equity Capital Markets. The role reports directly to the CCB US Software Sector Head.
Responsibilities:
Originate, manage, and grow new, multi-product and multi-country client relationships. Own, respond to, uncover and anticipate future needs, roadblocks, business & industry risks and headwinds
Drive innovation on the solutions we provide clients through partnerships with product specialists and subject matter experts, while structuring deals that balance risk and reward.
“Be the Best” for our clients by understanding and delivering on clients’ holistic operational, risk management, financing and strategic agenda. Be responsible for Client-level planning, budget and revenue responsibilities. Identify cross-sell opportunities to deepen and increase share of wallet.
Drive complex multi-product solutions across multiple geographies, such as regional cash management solutions, coordinated hedging solutions and Capital raising solutions, etc.
Work closely with Credit Loan Management and Independent Risk to ensure the establishment of new credit relationships as well as the monitoring of the existing credit portfolio.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all times
Calls on clients to deepen relationships and proactively owns, responds to, uncovers and anticipates future needs, roadblocks or risks and expectations
Introduces solutions to clients in building and strengthening an effective portfolio
Works with product specialists and subject matter experts to structure innovative and customized solutions that meet clients’ individual needs
Works closely with Case Manager on the on-boarding and retention of clients, ensuring the appropriate “Know Your Client” (KYC) and other compliance deliverables are met;
Identifies cross-sell opportunities to deepen and increase share of wallet;
Maximizes client experience by proactive sharing markets updates, trend and intelligence
Drives innovation in the solutions we provide clients and further developing our business where necessary and appropriate
Networks with clients to identify avenues for new business opportunities;
Administrate the credit relationship of the client, coordinating and supervising the entire process, ensuring the proper application of policies and institutional processes
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all time
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in Commercial Banking with technology client exposure
Active FINRA Licensing, 79, 63 and SIE or ability to obtain once onboard
Self-starter with a team player mindset – proven track record of robust new client acquisitions and sound risk management
Sound knowledge of banking and investment products and process
Demonstrates intermediate to advanced credit skills; structures more complex deals, including global transactions
Demonstrates an expert level of Early Warning Detection skills
Demonstrates expert level credit skills; capable of structuring all credit deals and guiding staff through the credit deal approval process
Demonstrates advanced Citi’s credit-process and credit-appetite knowledge
Ability to work effectively in team setting
Ability to coordinate multi-functional teams to provide an exceptional client experience.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (e.g. negotiation, consultative skills, leadership)
Ability to work under pressure while making sound decisions
Highly focused, able to rapidly identify key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities
Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business.
A proactive approach in looking for ways in strengthening business relationship with clients, delivers a simple, secure and seamless client experience
Ability to embrace new technology and understand the role digital plays in the experience we deliver for our clients
Able to quickly adapt priorities based on the latest data insights
