Technical Writer

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our client, a global financial institution, in the following areas:

Location: San Francisco, CA

Duration: 6 months with possibility of extension

Candidate must be eligible to direct W2 contract without employment sponsorship.

Job Descriptions:

This is a hybrid role of a Technical Writer, Editor, Information Management Specialist and Information/ Organizational Management tooling Expert. You will:

  • Work with co-workers to translate an information access objective into structure, tooling and solutions to reach the goal. You will also be collaborating closely with team members to iterate and influence the requirements based on the individual’s experience in the knowledge management domain. As such, understanding the strategic aims of the Innovation Hub and driving an iterative test and learn strategy on content management approaches to support these objectives, including approaches, tools and content will be required.

  • Assist the team’s management and groups with technical editorship – this involves adapting and rewriting existing content on innovative ideas and solutions to have a consistent, comprehensible, and structured narrative. This editorial work will be needed to help deliver the ‘Knowledge Hub’ objective. The individual will also need to provide similar editorial support to help colleagues create targeted messaging and content on innovation projects for specific audiences.

  • Assist the team’s management and groups with technical writing – this involves holding interviews with the team and then delivering new content on their innovative ideas and solutions for consumption by a range of audience types. This will be a minority component of the role.

  • Configuration of Atlassian’s Confluence / JIRA will be central to the role’s objectives and may extend to other projects such as team-wide reporting and agile implementation goals.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in related fields.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in technical editing, writing and knowledge management domains in a corporate setting.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the technology domain

  • Expert editorial skills, able to rewrite existing content to high power messaging to specific audiences for a specific objective

  • Expert in administration of Confluence, JIRA, and/or other tooling for both information and organizational management

  • Expert skills in information management domains

  • Advanced level writing skills, to create new content from minimal input, to create high power messaging

  • Expert ability to understand the bigger picture, and suggest best practice for solution design

  • Collaborative and dependable

  • Ability to demonstrate a Senior level work profile and capable of hitting the ground and running.

  • Must be able to provide sample works / portfolio when required.
