As such, BRP designs and builds the software systems, risk models and operational processes that minimize risk and maximize trust in Amazon.com.

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Program Manager responsible for New Launches team in Payment Risk Operations (PRO) within BRP. You will be working closely with business teams and understanding the requirements, working actively with Technology, Machine learning and Operations teams, making appropriate tradeoffs to successfully ready Payment Risk Operations for new launches ensuring business outcomes and Customer experience. You will be responsible for the entire Launch life cycle including understanding the product, associated fraud vectors, evaluate risks and create and execute a plan for a seamless launch. You will interact with a broad cross section of the Amazon organization as you clarify ambiguous issues and negotiate effective solutions between development and business teams. You will anticipate bottlenecks and escalate issues when required in order to ensure on-time delivery.

You will be responsible for analyzing and identifying specific instances of risk, broader risk trends and points of customer friction, as well as developing scalable solutions for prevention at the time of launch. You will need to collaborate effectively with business teams and within BRP and cross-functional teams to solve problems, create operational efficiencies, and deliver successfully against high organizational standards. You should be able to apply a breadth of tools, data sources, and analytical techniques to answer a wide range of high-impact business questions and proactively present new insights in concise and effective manner. In addition you will be responsible for building a robust set of operational and business metrics and will utilize metrics to determine improvement opportunities for the entire launch life cycle – starting from pre-launch requirement gathering, evaluation of risks, execution and mitigation plan, launch and post launch stabilization before handing it off to specific program teams to own BAU processes.

You should be an effective communicator capable of independently driving issues to resolution and communicating insights to non-technical and technical audiences. This is a high impact role with goals that directly impacts the bottom line of the business.

The BRP landscape is continuously changing to adapt to the new patterns and behaviors of bad actors. It is expected from this role, to quickly respond to new business needs amidst these changes and must govern the launch roadmap spanning across five functions (Buyer Risk, Gift cards, Amazon Pay, Business to Business & Chargebacks). The role leads a team of Program Managers while maintaining oversight and ensuring end-to-end operational readiness of every launch within PRO,. In addition, Launches Sr. Program Manager owns the goal to ensure operational assessment completion within pre-defined timelines based on Launch complexity and immediate resolution of any defects post launch. The candidate should also set up governance, guidelines, and audit mechanisms, relying heavily on influence over authority to drive projects and program deliverables in Payment Risk.

Key job responsibilities

People Management: Lead and coordinate the team to facilitate growth and development, define and set achievable goals for the team, support on removing project blockers to ensure team success, manage and support team on business partners escalations.

Program Management skills: Lead projects for cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a new feature, service, product, payment methods or systems.

Change Management & Innovation: Establishes procedures, plans and practices which promote the adoption of appropriate solutions and sustainability of desired results in complex operational environments.

Results & Accountability: Ensures that effective controls are developed and maintained across the organization. Takes corrective action, as appropriate. Commitment towards goals and outcomes and to ensure the completion within established timeframes.

Reporting: Reporting on progress of multiple projects, providing regular updates to management.

Collaboration: Partners with (advises and supports) the global process owners, Site leaders, Operation managers, Project Management Office, Product, Audits Team, Workforce, Tools and Security and Tech Teams in identifying, defining and executing various process improvement projects.

Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Development: Build and document the SOP specific to the investigation and quality assurance processes, and work to deploy globally.

Strategic: Managing and contributing to strategic organizational projects utilizing problem solving frameworks.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
