Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Cardiothoracic Physican Surgeons to support the VA Caribbean Healthcare System located at 10 Casia Street, San Juan, Puerto Rico 00921. Responsibilities

  • Manage patients efficiently with attention to length of stay and care transitions.

  • Deliver on-site open-heart cardiothoracic surgery services.

  • Perform initial patient evaluation at inpatient, outpatient and Emergency Department.

  • Perform surgical procedures in the operating room and post op care to include initial consult, permanent pacemaker implant (in emergency cases), pacemaker lead extraction (back up), pericardial window and/or pericardiectomy procedures, and be back-up for interventional cardiology (PCI).

  • Consultatively manage the care of patients in a variety of units.

  • Provide high detailed and quality documentation in the medical record with attention to completion of encounters.

Qualifications

  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.

  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), OR (2) Those approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), OR (3) Other residences (non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified practice in the United States).

  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the Unites States, or in the District of Columbia.

  • Must be able to pass a Federal background investigation.

All candidates must be able to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift

  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist

  • Lift up to 20 lbs

  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance

  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
