Liberty Latin America Senior Manager, FP&A in San Juan, Puerto Rico

What´s the role?

As the FP&A Senior Manager you will work with the FP&A Director, Accounting team, Controller and CFO and build and analyze our monthly Fixed financial results including development of a monthly forecast and commentary as part of our ongoing management reporting requirements for the board and our equity investors. You will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing board presentations, financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis and more to support key decision making. Analyze existing operational and cost data to identify current cost drivers and underlying costs for the services to be re-procured, providing a cost model that can support scenario analysis. The model will need to identify the risks, issues and opportunities across various scenarios efficiently. Partner with and build strong relationships with team members across the organization at all levels; support cross-functionally with problem solving and analysis for department leaders to effectively run their functions. Own, improve, and enhance financial and operational models, reporting, and analysis; develop set of critical metrics (KPI's) applicable for the industry, example scope includes company forecast model, new client and product introductions, and productivity improvement.

How can you add value?

  • Leads the preparation of Fixed financial forecasts and budget, including the identification/quantification of risks and opportunities; involves facilitating the negotiation, agreement of key operational metrics and inputs.

  • Lead Contribution Margin Variance Analysis & Recommendations.

  • Develop of a comprehensive set of KPI and metrics applicable to the industry and the business (ARPU, CPGA, CCU, CCPU, Churn, Subscribers Metrics, and others).

  • Supervise and manage the continued development of Capital Expenditures Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modeling.

  • Build, maintain and calibrate business models to facilitate effective planning, analysis and decision making throughout the organization.

  • Develop and update forecast models and methodologies to suit changes in business with strong understanding of key business drivers, focus on future strategic directions ensuring forecast accuracy and visibility short term & long term.

  • Address issues with appropriate teams to develop plan of action. Find opportunities to improve processes and practices. Work closely with business partners, functional teams to develop consistent and reliable management reporting, and processes.

  • Produce analyses and interpret monthly financial performance reports for divisional management (working in conjunction with the Accounting Team), adding business segment specific insights to support reporting and decision-making.

  • Support efficiently monthly reviews and periodic business planning sessions. Involves evaluating operational and financial results, supervising data and contributing to the development and analysis of key initiatives.

  • Aggregate and organize financial data from multiple platforms and systems; suggest procedural changes to increase the accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency of models and reports used or produced by the team.

  • Jointly undertakes financial review and performance management of the divisions, and identifies any variances/ discrepancies, working closely with Finance Management and Finance Partners.

  • Analyze and review financial and business information efficiently and derives useful insights to develop knowledge and decision-making skills.

  • Build and develop effective working relationships with business unit staff and other users, particularly finance colleagues in the Finance Department and LLA organization.

  • Demonstrate self-motivation, planning and prioritizing own work to achieve objectives within a short to medium term timeframe; likely to advise and coordinate the daily workflow of more junior staff.

  • Keep up to date with company and external policies, guidelines, legislative and regulatory requirements, in order to maintain compliance in their role and minimize the company exposure to risk, including the efficient handling of confidential and critical information.

  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement/efficiencies in finance processes and for strengthening internal controls.

  • Demonstrate and ensure compliance with the Customer First Philosophy, all Liberty Latin America's policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and Liberty safety standards and procedures

  • Other functions may be assigned.

What do you need?

Education and/or Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related quantitative field. CPA preferred.

10 + years of experience in financial analysis managerial position with budgeting experience. 4+ years of people management experience.

Extensive Excel modeling experience within the financial services industry and a thought framework grounded in economic theory, with the ability to identify financial drivers and assumptions within a business process.

Other Qualifications:

  • Substantial experience in the design and development of sophisticated financial and commercial models, with the ability to clearly articulate underlying operational costs through a supply chain.

  • Knowledge of computer operations, including MS Office package, HFM (Hyperion) package and SAP.

  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

  • Ability to understand sophisticated business drivers, produce high-quality analytics and communicate results effectively and to collaborate with partners from executive level to build consensus around sophisticated financial reporting and performance measurements.

  • Strong modeling background.

  • Computer-literate, knowledge in Microsoft Office, outstanding electronic spreadsheet construction skills.

  • Fully Bilingual (Spanish and English).
