Robert Half Accounting Manager in San Ramon, California
Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity at a growing private equity owned company for an Accounting Manager in San Ramon, California. This role focuses on managing and overseeing various accounting functions within our organization.
Responsibilities:
• Lead month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP
• Review work of direct reports
• Manage treasury operations
• Review and approve vendor payments
• Record customer cash receipts
• Co-manage inventory accounting and controls with operations team
• Maintain chart of accounts and master vendor and customer list
• Manage new customer and vendor onboarding for accounting
• Provide necessary reports for excise tax filings
• Create and refine audit support documentation
• Design and implement process controls to protect against fraud and misstatements
• Coordinate with external auditors and respond to audit requests
• Perform technical accounting research and analysis for GAAP application
• Identify and test internal controls
• Maintain current process, procedure, and accounting policy documentations
• Analyze key financial metrics to advise management decisions
• Prepare manual invoices and manage collection process
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of ideally both public accounting and private industry experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Experience supervising accounting personnel
• Experience leading AP and AR processes
• Ability to drive process improvements
• Proficiency in Excel (lookup, index, match, pivot tables, etc.)
• Experience managing accounting processes in ERP systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with successful experience in cross-functional partnerships
• Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
• Experience in accounting for inventory is a plus
• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance. Relevant advanced degrees and certifications (CPA, CFA, MBA) are a plus
• ERP implementation experience a plus
