Functional aspect of the positionThe Assembler and Tool & Die Maker performs a combination of mechanical assembly and tool & die work according to engineering drawings on various custom-built machinery, equipment, assemblies, and sub-assemblies to meet customer specifications.Mechanical Assembly40%•Assemble custom built machinery, equipment, assemblies, subassemblies, etc.•Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies, per customer order.•Check work order and blueprint to determine required assembly and any special options.•Check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts and fasteners for a particular work order.•From experience, resolves assembly problems. Reports other problems to Supervisor for assistance.•Maintains simple reports on work orders handled and quantities produced.•Follow work order instructions and blueprint reading. Tool & Die Making40%•Test and debug of customers designed tooling and equipment.•Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Sets up, runs off and tests dies to produce a product to specification, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same.•Build, repair and install all types, sizes, and shapes of jigs, fixtures, machinery, tools and dies. •Set up, runs and tests product to produce a product to specification, tracing difficulties to their source and correcting.•Test and debug of customers designed tooling and equipment.•Determines specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspection before, during and after machine install.Reports & common responsibilities10%•Maintains simple reports on work orders handled, quantities produced and quality reports.•Follow work order instructions, blueprint reading and geometric tolerances. •Participates in meetings such as design reviews, progress reviews, customer meetings, etc.•Collaborate with product designer and customer providing input to manufacturing capability on newly formed products.Workplace Safety and maintenance5%•Responsible for taking care of routine machine maintenance and keeping work area in neat condition.•Proper and safe use of material handling equipment such as cranes, carts, etc.•Follow all company safety rules, including machine operation and guarding.Other duties as requested by supervisor5%•Depending on department workflow, supervisor may request assistance in other areas in department.•Perform miscellaneous duties and participates in training as assigned by a supervisor.

Minimum Salary: 60,000 Maximum Salary: 72,000 Salary Unit: Yearly
