Sewing Machine Technician

Duties of the job will be to assemble, troubleshoot, repair, test, calibrate, rebuild, or adjust all components of a sewing machine. Also responsible for preventative maintenance, cleaning, and reconditioning. Required to have mechanical skill set with the ability to work with hand tools. Training will be focused primarily on the home sewing machines to begin and advance to the industrial sewing line. Responsible for adjusting machine parts to regulate length of needle stroke and movement of feeding mechanism. Also, ensure machines are timed correctly to make a good stitch. Inspect machines, shafts, and belts to identify worn or broken parts. Test sew each machine after assembly or repair work has been completed. After training is completed, the employee will have to service machines at customer facilities at times. The technician will be asked to work in the manufacturing department to assist with making new parts (operate CNC equipment, deburr, etc.) from time to time. New hires will learn on the job from an experienced technician and/or machinist.

  • Assemble machine table/stands, mount motor to table, insert machine head into table

Minor Duties

  • Clean machinery, tooling, and parts as necessary

{=html} <!-- --> - Perform hand finish work to parts as required

{=html} <!-- --> - Maintenance of work area and showroom as needed

{=html} <!-- --> - Perform other duties as they arise

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of small motors and machinery
