Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Santa Barbara, California. This role will be situated in a thriving industry where the primary function will be to manage and record financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and facilitate smooth operations within our financial department.
Responsibilities include:
• Accurately recording daily transactions in QuickBooks such as deposits, income, and expenses
• Scanning bills and receipts into QuickBooks
• Filing and maintaining physical files and records for future reference
• Printing and mailing checks and other financial documents as necessary
• Making bank deposits
• Following stringent check and cash handling procedures to ensure financial security
• Reporting daily check payment notifications to the bank for record-keeping
• Assisting with account reconciliation and documentation problem research
• Monitoring aging reports for Accounts Payable and Receivable and taking necessary actions
• Answering phone calls and emails from management and other departmental personnel regarding financial matters.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field desired
• Proficiency in QuickBooks is required.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have the legal right to work in the location of the job.
• Previous experience in an accounting role is preferred.
