Position Overview:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist coordinates and performs quality diagnostic procedures in the specialty of Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology. The NM technologist must possess and demonstrate knowledge of the following: radiation safety principles, anatomy/physiology, chemistry, physics and instrumentation, mathematics, medical terminology and pharmacology, venipuncture, safe patient transfer and positioning techniques, and ethical and professional conduct.
The NM technologist prepares, administers and documents activities related to radioactive isotopes and adjunct medications. The incumbent is responsible for the operation of a variety of equipment used to image, post-process, and document the anatomy. The NM Technologist ensures accurate documentation, effective communications and demonstrates knowledge of age-appropriate criteria when working with all patients, which include high risk and critically ill patients. Responsible for accurate charge capture.
Population served includes neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatrics.

EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Graduation from accredited approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
NMT-Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Upon Hire
RHN-Radiologic Health Nuclear Medicine Upon Hire
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire
IV Certification Upon Hire
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Complete understanding of Nuclear Medicine methodology, equipment, radiopharmaceuticals, basic radiation physics/biology, computer skills, human anatomy and physiology required.
Must have basic knowledge of NM dedicated computer systems and a working knowledge of PC systems.
Ability to work independently.
Must be able to communicate and deal effectively and professionally with our customers (i.e., physicians, employees, patients, general public).

Pay Range is $58.70 to $79.25 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
