Responsibilities

This position manages operational aspects of the service area, ensures that clinical care within the clinics of responsibility is delivered in a manner that meets best practices, follows established policies and procedures, and conforms to professional and regulatory guidelines. The Manager provides leadership and guidance and acts as a role model to staff within the clinics of responsibility working in partnership with the operational Leadership to ensure smooth and efficient clinical operations. The Manager works in collaboration with physicians, staff, clinic management and other healthcare professionals using a team approach and in continuous partnership with physicians and patients to

promote timely access to needed care and the enhancement of patient and family well-being. Working within the scope of practice and utilizing protocol driven standing orders, this position provides comprehensive support to physicians which may include evaluating lab data, providing instruction and education to patients, phone triage, and medication modifications. This position will support the PCMH concepts by providing coordination of care which may include facilitating diagnostic and laboratory testing, ensuring timely scheduling of follow-up appointments with providers, and providing disease management education. The Manager will be instrumental in the performance improvement efforts

within the Dignity Health Medical Foundation by designing or revising workflows to meet the various quality metrics and initiatives. This position maintains close oversight of clinical processes such as point of care testing, patient safety, medication administration and infection prevention activities to ensure that the clinics within his/her area of responsibility meet all regulatory requirements. This position may have access to third party credit card information and transactional systems (cash registers, point of sale devices, applications supporting credit card transactions, and reports or other documents containing credit card information) from single transactions or a single card at a time.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 yrs RN experience or 5 yrs combined experience as an RN/LVN with at least 3 years as an RN.

Minimum of 3 years of current healthcare management experience.

Demonstrated ability to work with physicians

Bachelor's degree, Nursing or Healthcare Administration

Registered Nursing License BCLS

Preferred:

Knowledge of business and management principles, and of budget control and accounting principles, including capital budgeting, cost accounting, professional and patient billing; and ability to apply these principles of a health care

environment. Knowledge of or ability to learn the budgeting process, management reports, accounting, purchasing and patient billing systems. Knowledge of personal and/or mainframe computers and software tools, including word processing, spreadsheet, data base, clinical information systems, electronic medical records, billing systems, and other application packages. Knowledge of reasons, structure and basic requirements of HMO, PPO and capitated risk plan

contracts as they relate to physicians and practices.

Master's degree in, Nursing, business, finance or healthcare administration preferred.

Pay Range

$51.07 - $74.92 /hour
