Robert Half Staff Accountant in Sartell, Minnesota

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Sartell, Minnesota. This role is essential in supporting a non-profit organization grant project. You will be part of a dedicated team, responsible for various accounting tasks such as accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Handle accounts payable tasks ensuring all bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner

• Process payroll, ensuring all employees are paid correctly and on time

• Prepare financial reports, providing insights into the organization's financial status

• Conduct audits for Federal Grants for Projects, ensuring compliance with all regulations

• Perform Federal Grants reconciliation, ensuring all funds are accounted for

• Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks, ensuring accurate record keeping

• Apply strong attention to detail in all tasks, ensuring accuracy in all reports and financial data

• Utilize skills in General Ledger and Journal Entries for accurate financial documentation

• Apply knowledge of Federal Grant and Grant Accounting for all grant related tasks

• Contribute to the team's efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed

This role requires proficiency in various skills such as Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger, Journal Entries, QuickBooks, Federal Grant, Grant Accounting, and Financial Reporting. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar.

• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) processes.

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger management.

• Proficient in creating and managing Journal Entries.

• Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

• Experience in Federal Grant management and Grant Accounting.

• Proficient in Financial Reporting, including preparation, analysis, and reconciliation.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is a must.

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
