Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the field of Financial Management for a highly organized and detail-oriented Controller in Sausalito, California. This role entails overseeing daily financial transactions, periodic accounting and financial reporting, HR functions, accounts payable, governmental filings, and providing essential support to our CFO. You will also be responsible for ensuring smooth financial and administrative operations and compliance with state regulations, significantly contributing to our firm's success.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with monthly accounting closes and prepare work papers for tax returns in coordination with CFO and an external accountant.

• Support the accuracy and completeness of financial records through manual transaction entry and verification.

• Prepare financial analysis and recaps of projects and handle all account reconciliation and related Treasury reporting.

• Process accounts payable for the investment firm and property management company.

• Monitor balances and fund bank accounts to ensure accurate processing of all transactions.

• Manage payroll processing for staff in California and Georgia and administer benefits, including health insurance and IRA contributions.

• Oversee onboarding and termination processes and ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.

• Prepare and file necessary documents with state authorities in California and Texas.

• Assist with the financial and administrative responsibilities related to acquiring new companies.

• Support the onboarding process to integrate new assets into the firm’s portfolio. Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management as a Controller or similar role.

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and Quickbooks Online.

• Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Experience in Auditing and Budget Processes.

• Proficient in using bill.com and Microsoft Excel.

• Expertise in Financial Statement Preparation and Account Reconciliation.

• Experience in Bank Account Reconciliation and Credit Card Reconciliation.

• Deep understanding of US GAAP.

• Experience in managing Payroll and In-House Payroll systems.
