GAF Electrical Maintenance Technician in Savannah, Georgia

Starting Wage:

This role starts at $36.57/hour!

Summary

The primary responsibility of Savannah’s Maintenance Team Electrician is to safely evaluate, repair, install, connect, test, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems to meet required specifications and comply with applicable codes and plant standards.

Essential Duties

  • Ability to configure, program, and install VFDs and Servo control systems. (PowerFlex, Kinetix).

  • Ability to identify, configure, and install process control equipment such as level transmitters, flow transmitters, and temperature controllers.

  • Able to use PLC ladder logic to troubleshoot and determine equipment issues and make program changes or adjustments as necessary.

  • Basic understanding of production servers and network architecture.

  • Design, draw, and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

  • Experience with the design, installation, configuration, and programming of PLCs, Allen Bradley ControlLogix processors series.

  • Thorough understanding of typical manufacturing facilities’ electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and equipment.

  • Identify digital and analog devices necessary to achieve desired control circuit requirements.

  • Proficient with WonderWare HMI applications and arrangements.

  • Able to make modifications and equipment installations.

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of three phase 480 volt systems as well as 120-volt single-phase control circuits.

  • Electrical control panel layout, fabrication, and installations.

  • Proficient with electrical testing equipment such as multi-meters, amp meters, and motor testing equipment.

  • Solid understanding of Ethernet control architecture, and motion control fundamentals.

  • Thoroughly comprehend and troubleshoot various control circuits such as pick and place systems, motor control circuits, automated assembly and handling systems, chemical feed, and level control systems.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Technical Knowledge/Skills

  • Understand the nomenclature for industrial parts and equipment.

  • Working knowledge and practical experience of PLCs, RSLogics5000, HMI-Wonderware, Industrial.

  • Communications-Modbus, Profibus, RSLinx, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet, Simolink, and Synchlink.

  • Working knowledge and practical experience of AC, DC, and Servo Drives-Allen Bradley, Siemens, Eurotherm Drives.

  • Working knowledge and practical experience with plant electrical MCC and Lighting panels.

  • Working knowledge and practical experience of the National Electrical Codes.

  • Working knowledge and practical experience of electrical diagrams and schematics.

Under this Roof, We Required (Qualifications)

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • 2+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience

  • 2+ years experience being primary electrical support on shift

  • Electrical certifications

Physical Requirements

  • Required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery.

  • Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.

  • Occasionally operate business machines.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

  • Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading.

  • Ability to walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
