Catalyst Technologies (CT) is a market leader in the syngas value chain. CATACEL SSR™ is a structured reforming catalyst that enables increased throughput and process intensification of conventional Steam Methane Reformers, demonstrated in Refineries Hydrogen, Methanol and Ammonia businesses. SSR has proven life cycle performance in large industrial applications. The technology has been in use globally since 2008. Equipment to manufacture the product has been commissioned, however the Operations Team, Site level procedures and systems (Finance/ERP/Logistics) have not yet been fully set up. A significant part of the role is therefore to establish a permanent manufacturing team and processes.

The Operations Project Manager leads, directs, and controls the activities of the CATACEL SSR™ manufacturing team on the Savannah site. The Operations Project Manager is directly accountable for production, continuous improvement, maintenance and troubleshooting of the mechanical process line to meet the operational and commercial requirements of the business safely and sustainably. They are also jointly responsible for the deployment and application of the Quality Management System by their direct reports. The incumbent will organize the flow of materials and labor applied to plant assets. The Operations Project Manager will oversee delivery of customer orders and present progress updates to Commercial and R&D stakeholders against agreed KPIs. In addition, the incumbent will manage smaller capital improvement projects and additions.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Promotes, establishes and delivers Environment, Health, Safety and Security policy as a long-term strategy of sustained effort and engagement for continual improvement.

  • Creates and maintains a culture of safety, and to achieve safety KPI targets including LTIIR, TRIIR.

  • Ensures compliance with relevant local and country legislative requirements.

  • Develops, directs and implements operating policies and procedures to ensure the SSR

  • manufacturing line meets its current and future production and quality targets.

  • Direct Line Management responsibility over Production Supervisor and support team including Automations Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Technician, CI Engineer.

  • Work with Subject Matter Experts within the CATACEL Technology Group and other departments to manage:• procurement of raw materials• implementation of systems and processes to enable serial production e.g. SAP inventory control, preventive maintenance schedule• integration of new operations team members into existing Savannah systems• Management of Change and EHS requirements such as: air permitting, facility/equipment upgrades, PGM security• re-launch and establishment of ISO 9001:2015 conforming Quality Management System.

  • Establishes, monitors and is responsible for the generation and presentation of KPIs, not limited to: performance of the plant/site against OEE, OTIF, schedule adherence, cost control, quality (NCM/CAPA), efficiency and sustainability targets. External and internal audiences.

  • Leads and directs activities to resolve operational issues and implement operational efficiency and performance initiatives.

  • Drives manufacturing excellence and helps define, with stakeholders such as the CATACEL Engineering Technology Manager, Savannah Site Director and Site CI Manager, the ongoing efficiency and capacity upgrades necessary to execute the SSR business plan.

  • Empowers and enables people in pivotal roles to learn and cultivate Continuous Improvement / LEAN Principals.

  • Leads and develops a culture of continuous improvement among the team.

  • Provides leadership to employees through effective communication, coaching, training, development and opportunities to grow and contribute.

  • Develops the manufacturing team, identifying development needs and creating stretch opportunities/goals for development, and succession planning.

  • Is a key contributor in strategic SSR manufacturing decisions at the site/local level within the framework of the wider SSR Business.

  • Contributes to S&OP processes for CATACEL SSR.

  • Responsible for developing and sponsoring small to mid-level CAPEX investments that directly lead to improved safety, capacity, and efficiency.

  • Creates, collaborates and implements best manufacturing practices within Savannah, other sites within sector and across group.

  • Carrying out any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.

Requirements for the role:

  • Degree preferred, most likely in a scientific, technical discipline.

  • Significant relevant manufacturing experience, within a mechanical or chemical process manufacturing environment.

  • Significant experience in a leadership role, ideally within a dynamic environment

  • Sound understanding of EHS and demonstrated implementation of EHS initiatives and improvements.

  • Previous supervisory experience is required

  • Proven competence in both leading and developing a talented set of direct reports

  • Proven competence in a regulated manufacturing environment

  • Solid understanding of continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, LEAN and

  • TPM and their implementation strategies

  • Project management experience

  • Strong communicator at all levels of the organisation, coupled with excellent presentation skills

  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs) on a regular and consistent basis
