We are hiring Community Support Specialists to join our team! We have openings for Part time and on Call!

Schedule:

We are looking for On Call, Part time, and Full time!!

Full time; Monday-Friday 8:30am-2pm

Goodwill is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Deaf Services LifeWorks Community Support Specialist on an on-call basis. As a leading nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities, Goodwill aims to provide inclusive and empowering services to the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. For this position, ASL is required.

Work location: Scarborough, Maine

Job Summary:

  • Supports service recipients associated with Goodwill’s Life Works Program. Duties include:

  • Following the service, the plan serves as a model and provides hands-on support and direct teaching in areas including, but not limited to, interpersonal skills, financial management skills, personal care and hygiene, activities of daily living, and access to community services and leisure opportunities

  • Moderates verbal or emotional incidents through intervention techniques that preserve the dignity and safety of the service recipient(s)

  • Completes all required documentation following program standards

  • Maintains all required certifications

  • Represents the Agency in all interactions with other Goodwill community members and the general public, supporting the agency's Vision of creating sustainable communities that thrive through the fullest participation of their diverse residents.

  • Furthers the organizational commitment to triple bottom line results: integrating social, economic, and environmental goals into thinking, planning, and actions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Evidence of High School diploma or GED

  • Valid driver’s license permitting operation of a vehicle in the State where employed; safe driving record

  • Reliable transportation and automobile insurance that meets minimum state requirements

  • A criminal background check that meets Agency and State standards.

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to complete required certifications on time.

This schedule will be on-call hours

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities

  • Mental Health Experience (when applicable)

  • Training relevant to the program (A. CRMA, B. First Aid / CPR, C. NAPPI, D. College of Direct Support, E. Defensive Driving) or education/alternative training approved by the Senior Director.

  • ASL- at least three years experience required for Deaf Services or Residential Settings (when applicable)
