$35.71 - $39.56 HourlyListed salary range is for fully licensed candidates.This position has a set schedule each week and operates during SCAP's regular business hours of Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.

SCAP is looking for NYS licensed therapists (LMHC preferred) to provide mental health services to vulnerable and underserved populations. Here at SCAP, we work every day to address social issues and much more by utilizing Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma Informed Care and other Evidence-based practices. There is a spotlight shining on racial and economic disparities including shrinking the stigma around Mental Health treatment and increasing more equitable access to Mental Health services. SCAP is looking for Therapists to help join the movement and be agents of change.

As a SCAP Therapist you will:

  • Be part of an established team of clinicians, live and in person with the possibility of one work from home day a week.

  • Be part of a well-established agency without the responsibilities of a private practice or for profit where numbers can count more than you, your work or your clients. As a SCAP therapist you:

  • Still get paid regardless if your client is a no-show.

  • Do not have to work On-Call.

  • Get to work a 35hr week.

  • Receive weekly supervision.

General Responsibilities

  • Work with each customer to evaluate and determine goals for working together to support the goal of long term employment, housing stability and overall mental health.

  • Provide routine individual, family, and/or group therapy sessions. The frequency is determined with each customer and approved and supported by program goals and timelines.

  • Facilitate the connection to longer term therapy when needed following program timelines and treatment needed.

  • Works as a member of the Behavioral Health team to ensure support for successful outcomes. Communicate efficiently and effectively with team members to plan interventions and document milestones and outcomes. Integrate services working with colleagues throughout the agency, following all protocols established.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Counseling and appropriate NYS license.

  • Valid NYS Driver's License, have regular access to a car & willing to travel to off-site locations.

  • Demonstrated use of telehealth systems is necessary.

  • Preferred two (2) years' experience providing individual, family and/or group therapy.

  • Minimum one (1) year experience required.

  • Direct and demonstrated skills in practicing Solution Focused Therapy through the lens of Trauma Informed Care and Strengths-based frameworks preferred.

  • Knowledge and understanding of issues related to individuals and families in poverty. Ability to build upon the strengths of those we serve with diverse racial, cultural, social, educational and economic backgrounds, including high risk populations, to provide high-level services and lasting solutions to fit each individuals and family's needs.

  • Background check required.

  • Applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and show proof of vaccination [or receive a first vaccination by their first day]. Any requests for an exemption will be reviewed by the SCAP Human Resources Director and determined on a case by case basis.
