Boeing Flight Operations Engineering, a component of Boeing’s Customer Support organization, is looking for an Associate Systems and Data Analyst in Seal Beach, CA .

A well-qualified candidate will have software development and web-based application programming experience to work with end users, developers, testers, and management. The candidate will work in a collaborative environment with a team of application experts on maintenance, enhancements, and testing of the Flight Operations portal on MyBoeingFleet, Flight Manual publishing systems, and many other Flight Operations web based applications.

The successful candidate will possess the following general and technical competencies: Software Development Lifecycle, Analytical Skills, Effective Verbal and Written Communication, Planning and Organizing, Decision Making, Collaboration, Building Positive Relationships.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location .

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with internal Boeing users and external airline customer users to determine tool requirements for online authoring and delivery of Flight Operations products

  • Leverage programming experience to create meaningful requirements and robust systems acceptance tests

  • Utilize verbal/written communication to create application requirements documents, communicate details of application requirements with IT developers, work with IT to ensure system updates meet requirements, and conduct requirement based user acceptance testing of the updated applications

  • Support end users by trouble shooting application anomalies that occur

  • Conduct end-user training

  • Translate high-level business requirements into functional and detailed requirements

  • Work with a cross-divisional teams to develop, test systems and prototypes

  • Learn, discover, document and automate business processes

  • Own the system business applications and provide continuous improvements

  • Researches basic technologies for potential application to company business needs. Analyze customer feedback to identify areas for product improvement

Basic Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited course of study, in management information systems, computer information systems, computer science, engineering

  • Experience in a system analyst or similar role, using various software development lifecycle methods

  • Experience with writing business or functional requirements documents for IT applications.

  • Experience with customer support and testing of IT applications.

  • Experience with programming languages and web technologies.

  • Experience with network system architecture.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience with organizing and conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) of IT applications

  • Experience in the following skill(s): HTML, JavaScript, ASP.Net and C#; using database design, data structures, and SQL

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master, 6 year's related work experience, etc.).

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $75,650 – $102,350
