UW Medical Center-Montlake – General Internal Medicine and Cardiology has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager. This position is open to UW Medical Center – Montlake nurses only. WORK SCHEDULE
90% or 100% FTE
Day/Night rotating shifts DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Our General Internal Medicine and Cardiology (6NE) unit is a 30-bed unit that specializes in providing acute care for diverse medical/surgical/cardiology patients who are acutely ill or injured and in varying stages of recuperation from diagnostic, therapeutic or surgical interventions. Patients with respiratory, medical, cardiac, or surgical diagnoses who require telemetry monitoring are admitted to this unit. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
Serve as a clinical resource for staff
Provide training and direction to new employees
Foster a positive work environment and promote staff development PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to develop and implement unit policies and procedures
Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards
Assist with performance evaluations and recruitment
Monitor patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Coordinate patient care, including admissions, discharges, and transfers
Address patient and family concerns and provide excellent customer service REQUIREMENTS
Current UW Medical Center – Montlake RN
At least 2 years of current/recent inpatient acute care med-surg nursing experience
Demonstrated leadership and/or charge nurse experience
