Hazelwood Preschool Assistant Preschool Teacher in Seattle, Washington

Position Overview: We are looking for a compassionate and energetic Toddler Teacher Assistant to support our 2-year-old classroom. This role is perfect for someone passionate about early childhood education who is eager to contribute to a team and work with young children in a dynamic, hands-on environment. As a Teacher Assistant, you will support lead teachers with daily routines, foster positive social interactions, and ensure a safe and engaging atmosphere for children to learn and grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment where children feel safe and engaged
  • Encourage and model age-appropriate social interactions, problem-solving, and emotional expression
  • Supervise and participate in indoor and outdoor play, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children
  • Support classroom organization, including setup and cleanup of activities, snack preparation, and material management
  • Engage with children's families as needed, supporting open communication and a welcoming environment
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities, as provided

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred)
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children in a structured environment is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of early childhood development, with a focus on social-emotional skills
  • Ability to engage with young children and foster a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with staff, children, and families
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring)
