Job Title: Civil Engineer
Responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing projects relating to utility design, telecommunications, right-of-way management, federal and state projects, single-family, multi-family, mixed-use, and commercial projects. Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan project layouts, as well as ensure projects comply with code and safety standards. Monitor project progress, resolve any issues that arise, and ensure the quality of work meets specifications. Projects may include building layout, sidewalks, water system, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and street roadway design in an urban setting. Responsible for stormwater report writing, redlining plans for a drafter, and successfully obtaining permits. Communicate with agencies and collaborate with architects, landscape architects, and structural, and geotechnical engineers.
Job Requirements
Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Two years of civil engineering experience, including experience in:
- Assisting with designing, planning, and overseeing projects;
- Performing site visits to inspect the designed work during construction phase;
- Writing technical reports of discrepancy work;
- Analyzing survey reports, maps, and other data to plan project layouts;
- Ensuring projects comply with code and safety standards;
- Utilizing Civil 3D, Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam, CAD, and AutoCAD;
- Utilizing Non-Destructive Testing equipment and materials testing equipment;
- Building Information Modeling;
- Performing post-tensioned concrete preliminary and final deck walks and engineering calculations, and
- Completing unbonded PT tendon stressing reports.
Experience in Municipal Civil Inspection particular to Seattle, Washington, for work on public utilities and heavy civil construction for rail transit.
